Keep calm, have plenty of food and drink and games to play in the car and their favourite cushion.

sing along songs in the cd player,..and if no one asks are we there yet ! they get a treat at the service station we love our mazda 6 xx

Make sure they go to the toilet before you leave.

I spy! One of the oldest most entertaining games ever. Even with colours (I spy something that is green...) when the kids were small.

let them help preplan the trip using junctions and landmarks, use this on route and you can ask them 'are we there yet?'

play games, such as hunt the yellow car to keep them amused. Pack healthy snakcs such as raisins and stop every hour or two for a pit stop!

dont take emhaha,bring lots of games etc

spotting Eddie Stobbart trucks; magazines, and refreshment stop half way.

make sure you take loads of travel games

A good book for them.

Don't

Gobstoppers to stop them from asking if we're nearly there yet, as well as ear protectors, should the gobstoppers not work.

Set off early ,have some quizzes or 'see how many......you can see whilst we are travelling'. Take a few non sugary snacks

Enertain them. I find wipe clean cards from Usborne "Things to do on a journey" are excellent.

Make sure you have plenty of their fav music, snacks and toys. For older kids a host of games like ispy in mind.
