LEAVE THEM BEHIND

Stop frequently when they are awake and drive like the wind when they are asleep.

If they are entertained, fed and watered they are happy - it isn't rocket science! (Wearing them out does help though).

Bring lots of books, colouring, and games! Keeps them quiet so they won't be a pain!

Take Wet Wipes

keep them occupied

break the journey up with a treat at the midway point (such as a visit to a museum or cinema)

easy access to the back seats, and plenty of cabin space, a big bonus point

Definitely have a dvd player ready as back up. My 4 year old loves having headphones on so no one else can hear it!

Don't take them! you can only take so much of the incessant moaning of "Daaad I need to pee" or "are we there yet"

Be patient and stop often.

Make sure they are calm and wearing their seat belts.

keep them busy so they do not get bored

Always have enough drinking water along, and pass time car games for longer trips.Everyones should be comfortable whenever in the car.

have drinks and sweets handy (but not too many ) put a little selection of nibbles in a sandwich box and say your having a travelling picnic

Anything that gets them falling asleep for as long as possible, but having fun games for when they wake up.
