On a long journey have lots of breaks so that they don't get too bored by always being in the car.

A portable DVD player keeps them going for hours!

have their ps3 connected in the car and their favorite snacks always.

Drug them...or avoid it like the plague!

Always take plenty of breaks to stretch everyone's legs and cut boredom

Make sure you have plenty of things to entertain them....Ipods, portable DVDs etc......oh and don't forget the travel sickness tablets!

Be prepared and engage the children. Encourage them to join in the travel experience playing various car games, singing and having fun!

tell them exactly everything you thought and did when you were their age - They will be so amazed they won`t be the slightest trouble!

Plan your journeys in advance to include games including a variation I I-spy with points for seeing different types of animals.

Plan games for the kids, including pre preparing a game of bingo by drawing pictures of things we will see on our journey for kids to spot.

Allow them each to choose some things to put in the car that fit into a certain size bag. That way they choose the toys they most want.
