On every hour of daytime travelling, alternate between a new game, a snack or a stop. Time will pass more quickly for the children.

Tell the children your going to the most fabulous place and along the way ask them to try and remember landmarks for the return journey.

keep them fed and watered!! GIVE THEM A NEW BOOK TO RED TELL THEM TO SLEEP AS LONGER THEY SLEEP THE QUICKER WE WILL ARRIVE!!

For long journeys, create a little activity pack for them including colouring in, games, sweets etc to keep them entertained.

Story cd's, games like lists of things to spot on the journey, special snacks and travelling either at night or very ealy so they sleep

Start out early so they fall asleep for part of the journey and make plenty of stops along the way.
