take colouring or games for DS's or V, Tech, and DVD's to watch. play games like I Spy or counting colours of cars.

Teach them to play games - traditional ones like I spy, and observation games (how many tractors etc). Our 4 year old even makes up games!

Ensure they have plenty to keep them occupied, books, toys and plenty of healthy snacks/drinks. Have regular stops if on a long journey.

It helps having one parent in the back with the child.Lots of close interaction,kids love it,rather than seeing the back of our heads.

good variety of travel games,according to age groups,light snacks ,singalong songs,or nursery rhymes for toddlers,regular breaks. happy trip

Start off early for a long journey, lots of snack and toys. Make plenty of stops. Keep them safe as possible

Each child has a carrier bag full of their favourite toys.Mum also buys some new things as a surprise for the journey! It works every time!

do some research and give them a list of landmarks to spot along the way, nibbles, music, have patience - plain conversation is good too!

Pack a surprise bag which can only be opened in the car and not before,. Make sure they have been to the toilet before you set off!
