Be prepared. Plan ahead - food, drinks, books, toys, cds to sing along too, and time to stop in between. And remember to enjoy the ride :)

Have lots of small games and knick knacks to occupy them. They soon get fed up with whatever you give them so you need plenty of ammunition.

Start out early so they fall asleep for part of the journey and make plenty of stops along the way.
