keep them busy with toys, food, drink or talking or reading or showing something to them will keep them in control.

Plan the journey to allow plenty of toilet breaks!!! Ban the question 'Are we nearly there yet?'

keeping them entertained, fed, watered and a selection of fabulous music/nursery rhymes! oh and a top singing voice at the ready

travel at times when kids are sleeping. if travelling during the day keep them busy with toys. take breaks for toileting and stretching.

BE FULLY PREPARED

I bring a sing-a-long kids cd for my 2 young children to keep them singing in tune and happy (cbeebies has a good one) :) !!!!!!!!!!!!

books,colouring books are great or a portable dvd player always passes the time. regular stops to strech the legs and snacks always helps:)

I fill up wrapped toilet tubes spellings, add the sum then can you see the lady with a dog good behaviour gets the last tube with sweets.

Go on the internet to spot points of interest during the journey, which can then be ticked off a printed list.

Make sure you have plenty of drink & food refreshment. Make plenty of stops. Play some I-spy games etc.

put them in a safe and comfortable car. more space means more peace of mind-Mazda5.

Ensure that you are prepared with snacks/drinks and make up games to play along the way. Do not underestimate the power of childrens music

stop at services put lots of money in arcade game let them play and pick them up on way home..!!
