travel at times when kids are sleeping. if travelling during the day keep them busy with toys. take breaks for toileting and stretching.

I bring a sing-a-long kids cd for my 2 young children to keep them singing in tune and happy (cbeebies has a good one) :) !!!!!!!!!!!!

books,colouring books are great or a portable dvd player always passes the time. regular stops to strech the legs and snacks always helps:)

I fill up wrapped toilet tubes spellings, add the sum then can you see the lady with a dog good behaviour gets the last tube with sweets.

Make sure you have plenty of drink & food refreshment. Make plenty of stops. Play some I-spy games etc.

Start out early so they fall asleep for part of the journey and make plenty of stops along the way.
