Number plate roulette. Look for last number in the plate of passing cars. Non-zeros are added up but a zero is out and then the next kids go

buy new toys and let them have one at a time throughout the journey. swap the toy when they get bored

Take musical nursery/school CD's along. The kids love it and I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it also. Books also.

I've always kept a babies potty in the front car. As any parent will know children need 'a wee' at the most inconvient times.

If you are going on a long trip set off at their bedtime and they will more than likely sleep the whole journey. Lots of snacks help too!

Start out early so they fall asleep for part of the journey and make plenty of stops along the way.
