make words using the last letters on other cars registations. and then get the kids to spell the word, great for spellings!

Plenty of eye spy type games, like 'first one to see a red letter box or blue lorry etc' distracts from journey and motion sickness!

Make sure they are not hungry on the journey and that you have kids music on board to keep them entertained.

print out sheets for the journey for things for them to spot, the younger ones can join in if you use pictures
