Prepare, Bring small games, favorite toy, food, drinks and of course the sick bags! blankets etc in case you break down,correct car seat.

Let them choose their selection of music to keep them happy and ammused. Ensure you have a ssome fruit for them to snack on. Not sweets

Play lots of games, like I spy. Failing that, travel at night or early afternoon so any sleep doesn't interfere too much with bed time.

let them choose what they want to take to entertain themselves,whatever they take their to carry as you won't be carrying it for them!

Carry snacks and drinks of every sort, make sure the kids haven't had enough sleep n be prepared to make several stops.

Start out early so they fall asleep for part of the journey and make plenty of stops along the way.
